The new grad lounge is located on the 1st floor of the old student center across from Porter's Pub (map). Buildout was completed spring 2009 of all but the kitchen sink (seriously), due to an oversight of the construction planners that the drain to be used actually is UPHILL from the sink location. Der.
Amenities include the following:
- lounge furniture (in the near future)
- a conference room with conference table, projector screen, and white board
- kitchenette with a full size refrigerator and freezer, microwave, and sink (whenever they figure out that uphill drainage thing)
- featured art from the BioEASI student group
- back room storage
Currently (20090712) the lounge remains unfurnished, but our good friend Paul Terzino from University Centers has promised to cover the cost of fixing that, and directed us to Tina Geisler from BKM (tgeisler@bkmsd.com, 858-569-4783), our point person for the purchasing. We hope to have the lounge mostly operational by Fall 2009.
