Executive Committee

President - Serves as Chair of both the GSA Executive Committee and Council, oversees the direction of the organization and ensures the execution of its responsibilities and commitments.

Executive Vice President of Internal Affairs - Serves as chief of staff to the President and secretary of the Council, as Chair of the GSA University Affairs Task Force, and appoints, subject to Council approval, grad students to campus-wide administrative committees.

Emily Elizabeth Goodman  (vpinternal@gsa.ucsd.edu), Visual Arts

Vice President of Academic Affairs - Serves as Chair of the GSA Academic and Judicial Committee and as a representative to the Graduate Council and Representative Assembly of the Academic Senate, coordinates the annual Ph.D. Career Conference in conjunction with the Career Services Center, and appoints, subject to Council approval, grad students to campus-wide academic committees.

Jordan James Gosselin  (vpacademic@gsa.ucsd.edu), Physics

Vice President of Financial Affairs - Serves as Chair of the GSA Finance Committee, oversees the finances of GSA.

Rahul Kapadia (vpfinance@gsa.ucsd.edu), Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering

Vice President of External Affairs - Serves as Chair of the GSA Student Advocacy Committee, attends monthly meetings of the University of California Students Association (UCSA), coordinates the regular lobby efforts of the organization, and oversees the work of the Legislative Liaisons.

Vice President of Campus Affairs - Serves as Chair of the GSA Programming Committee, leads planning for all quarterly festivals, oversees the work of the Cultural Coordinator and Social Coordinators.

Vice President of Diversity - Serves as Chair of the GSA Diversity Committee, oversees the organization's outreach efforts and work in support of campus diversity.

Legislative Liaison for State and Local Affairs (appointed by the VP External Affairs) - Develops legislative proposals and interacts with state and local representatives.

Shannon Muir (ca.legislative@gsa.ucsd.edu), Biomedical Sciences

Legislative Liaison for National Affairs (appointed by the VP External Affairs) - Develops legislative proposals, interacts with national representatives, and maintains relationships with NAGPS and SAGE. 

Scott Guenther (us.legislative@gsa.ucsd.edu), Political Science

Cultural Events Coordinator (appointed by the VP Campus Affairs) - Organizes cultural programming, including special event ticket sales.
