The Graduate Student Association (GSA) Council recently voted to create the position of Vice President of Diversity Affairs with a charge to further the recruitment and retention efforts of the UC San Diego campus. The commitment includes a number of institutional obligations and programming responsibilities, and will carry and annual compensation of $4,000.
Additionally, Council has designated the Coffeehouse Commissioner, with oversight responsibility for the Cafe Vita coffeeshop at the One Miramar Street housing complex, as an elected position with an annual compensation of $4,000.
A special election to fill both positions has been scheduled for 6:00pm in the Price Center Forum on Monday, June 1. Candidates must be nominated by a member of Council. For more information, please contact your department representative or gsapresident@ucsd.edu.
