Elected Officers

GSA President

Doug Jorgesen, Electrical and Computer Engineering
President - Oversees the direction of GSA and ensures the execution of GSA responsibilities and commitments.

 

 

Melanie Zauscher, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
Vice President of Internal Affairs - Recruits department representatives and appoints, subject to Council approval, grad students to campus-wide administrative committees.

GSA Academic

Nick Saenz, History
Vice President of Academic Affairs - Serves as a representative to the Graduate Council and Representative Assembly of the Academic Senate, coordinates the annual All-Grad Research Symposium in conjunction with the OGS Intern, and appoints, subject to Council approval, grad students to campus-wide academic committees.
VP Finance 

Beckie Callahan, International Relations and Pacific Studies
Vice President of Finance - Oversees the finances of GSA.

 VP External Rob Martin, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
Vice President of External Affairs - Attends monthly meetings of the University of California Students Association (UCSA) and lobbies state legislators, the UC Office of the President (UCOP), and Board of Regents.
 

 

Griffin Brungraber, Structural Engineering
Vice President of Campus Affairs / Campus Organizing Director - Organizes campuswide graduate student events.

Appointed Officers

  Amanda Brovold, Philosophy
Outreach Coordinator (appointed by the VP Campus) - Organizes small-scale programming.
  Alicia Gamez, Chemistry & Biochemistry
Legislative Liaison (appointed by the VP External) - Develops legislative proposals and interacts with local, state, and national representatives.
Matt Tong, Computer Science and Engineering
Coffeehouse Commissioner (appointed by the VP Finance) - Oversees GSA's coffeehouse and serves as liaison between coffeehouse manager, student life, and GSA.
