Executive Committee

The Executive Committee is made up of 8 elected and 5 appointed officers.

Elected Officers

 

 Alex James (gsapresident@ucsd.edu), MAE
President - Oversees the direction of GSA and ensures the execution of GSA responsibilities and commitments.
 

 

Rodolfo John Alaniz (gsainternal@ucsd.edu), History
Vice President of Internal Affairs - Recruits department representatives and appoints, subject to Council approval, grad students to campus-wide administrative committees.

 

Jesse Vargas (gsaacademic@ucsd.edu), Biology

Vice President of Academic Affairs - Serves as a representative to the Graduate Council and Representative Assembly of the Academic Senate, coordinates the annual All-Grad Research Symposium in conjunction with the OGS Intern, and appoints, subject to Council approval, grad students to campus-wide academic committees.

Vice President of Finance - Oversees the finances of GSA.

 

 Terrell Green (gsaexternal@ucsd.edu), Bioengineering
Vice President of External Affairs - Attends monthly meetings of the University of California Students Association (UCSA) and lobbies state legislators, the UC Office of the President (UCOP), and Board of Regents.

ExCom Meeting

 In attendance: Taylor, John, Ben, Katie, Ron, Akos, Manny, Alex, Rob & Jesse arrived a bit late

 

Costco card renewal: Akos is no longer attached via credit card. Rob is now the primary contact for Costco. Renewal is due Nov 1st. ~$100 2% return received at exec meeting. Ben needs to go before the next social hour next Wednesday.
