Proposal to Amend New Housing Policy

I have attached Dean Barrett's written modifications to the new housing policy. Dean Barrett has asked for Council to vote on her proposal. Should it fail, she would like formal suggestions as to what would be acceptable. I know Brendan Carter of SIO is drafting a resolution with several possible active clauses for Council's consideration.

Response to Housing Policy Changes

On Tuesday, October 21, Associated Residential Community Housing distributed change of contract notices to residents that include notice of a maximum one-year term limits for new students in One Miramar housing complex and Warren Single Graduate Apartments as well as the elimination of primary status for secondary residents after December 1st, 2008. The included FAQ from housing also states that new secondary residents with waitlist dates after October 1st or that are not on the waitlist will also receive only one-year, non-renewable leases in the Mesa and One Miramar housing complexes.
